1.17. Car running in

GENERAL INFORMATION

In the period of a running in (the first 1500 km of operation) occurs intensive extra earnings of details of the car. Therefore how the car during this period is operated, reliability, durability and profitability of the car will depend substantially. A running in there has to pass the new car, and also the car on which the engine was replaced or capitally repaired.

In the period of a running in it is necessary to adhere to the following rules:

 – to begin the movement only on the first transfer; to avoid the movement at high speeds and with the maximum frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft. For this purpose it is necessary to include in due time the transfer corresponding to movement speed; whenever possible to avoid the movement in severe road conditions (on deep snow, sand, dirt, etc.);
 – periodically to check and if necessary to regulate a tension of belts of the drive of auxiliary units (the generator, the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering, etc.).

It is necessary to remember that in the period of a running in belts most intensively stretch; to watch a state and if necessary to tighten all fasteners of the car. Special attention needs to be paid on fastening of wheels, details of a steering, forward and back suspension brackets and a reception pipe of the muffler to a final collector of the engine.

After run of 1000 km it is necessary:

 – to check and if necessary to adjust gaps in the drive of valves on models with engines without hydropushers of valves;
 – to check and if necessary to adjust the frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft idling and the maintenance of CO and CH in the fulfilled gases; to replace an oil filter and oil in the engine.

After run of 1500 km it is necessary:

 – to check and if necessary to tighten all available threaded connections. Thus to pay special attention to fastenings of the generator, a pulley of the generator, a starter, a reception pipe of the muffler, a radiator, support of the engine, drive of coupling, the drive of brakes, transmissions, a case of coupling, wheels, details of a suspension bracket, a steering;
 – to check and if necessary to adjust a tension of belts of the drive of auxiliary units, frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft idling and the maintenance of CO and CH in the fulfilled gases;
 – to check a pretightness of bearings of naves of lobbies and back wheels, the regulator of pressure of back brakes, a convergence of forward wheels.
