PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On release models till 1988 to remove the sensor (see rice. To a detail of a fuel tank of cars of release till 1988) the level of fuel it is similar to models with carburetor engines (see subitem 1-5 of subsection 6.1.9). To take out the pump from a tank through an opening under the fuel level sensor.
2. To install the pump upside-down. At installation to watch that rubber pillows of the pump rose on pins of the arm located at the bottom of a tank and spring holders were latched.
3. On release models since 1988 for removal of the pump (see rice. To a detail of a fuel tank of cars of release after 1988) the special tool (VAG 3214) is necessary. To turn them the pump on 15 mm to the left and to take out up together with the holder from a tank, having disconnected a fuel-supply line and electricity cables.
4. To install the pump in a tank so that a tag on the holder (see rice. The fuel pump since 1988) coincided with the first tag on a fuel tank, as shown in drawing. To fix the pump, having turned it by means of the special adaptation so that the tag on the holder coincided with the second tag on a fuel tank.
