9.3. Steering column

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect a wire from the "minus" plug of the battery.
2. To remove a steering wheel (see subsection 9.2).
3. To weaken fastening of understeering switches through the opening located from below in a casing of understeering switches. To remove understeering switches from a pipe of a steering column, having disconnected a block with wires.
4. To remove a combination of devices (see subsection 12.1.5.15).
5. Through an opening in the panel of a combination of devices to drill a drill with a diameter of 3,5 mm a bolt of fastening of the case of the switch (lock) of ignition with the cut-off head.
6. To take away drafts and from the steering mechanism, having removed an arm and a clamping plate.
7. To turn off a bolt of fastening of a coupling collar of the lower shaft of a steering column, to shift a collar up and to disconnect the lower shaft from a shaft of a driving gear wheel of the mechanism of a steering.
8. To turn out screws of fastening and to remove the lower shelf from the driver.
9. To remove vozdukhoduv for an obduv of feet of the driver.
10. To turn off a bolt of fastening of a collar, having disconnected a shaft of a steering column from a shaft of a driving gear wheel of the mechanism of a steering. On models with a steering column without hydraulic booster previously to shift the protection cover.
11. To turn off two nuts and to take out two bolts of fastening of a steering column to an arm.
12. To lower a little steering column and to remove the ignition switch case, having disconnected from it blocks with wires.
13. To take out a steering column through an opening in the dashboard.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To establish a steering column upside-down.
2. Thus the top and lower shaft of a steering column are squeezed against the stop. To hold shaft in such situation, it is recommended to remove previously vozdukhoduv for an obduv of feet of the driver.
3. Before connection of a shaft of a steering column with shaft of a driving gear wheel of the mechanism of a steering to insert a key into the ignition switch and to switch-off the anti-theft device.
4. The bolt of the 17th fastening of a collar is tightened by the moment of 25 N · m (2,5 kgfs · l), and two bolts of the 18th fastening of a steering column – the moment of 35 N · m (3,5 kgfs · м).
