GENERAL INFORMATION

The power supply system of the carburetor engine consists of a fuel tank, the fuel pump, the carburetor, the air filter and fuel-supply lines. Carburetors can be installed one - and two-chamber. The fuel pump – with the mechanical drive from the intermediate roller on four-cylinder or from a camshaft on five-cylinder engines. The fuel pump non-demountable and to repair is not subject. The air filter with a dry replaceable paper element is equipped with the automatic device for adjustment of air temperature, given to the engine. The most part of Audi engines is equipped with system of injection of fuel. This system consists of a fuel tank, the submersible fuel pump and actually system of injection of K-Jetronic or KE-Jetronic fuel of Bosch firm, on some models the pressurization turbocompressor is established. The fuel pump with the electric drive is located in a fuel tank. Fuel is continuously sprayed by a nozzle in an inlet pipe where mixes up with air and moves in the cylinder when the inlet valve opens. The fuel tank, the fuel pump of a high pressure, a nozzle, fuel and air filters and fuel-supply lines belong to fuel system of the diesel engine. In the diesel engine fuel is injected by nozzles directly into cylinders at the end of a compression step. Necessary pressure creates the fuel pump of a high pressure.
