10.9. Brake drum


The brake drum is assembled with a nave of a wheel and actually they are one detail. Removal and installation of the brake drum see in subsection 8.2.3.

Survey and troubleshooting

1. Carefully to clear the brake drum.
2. To measure by a caliper diameter of a working surface of a drum. The most admissible diameter of a drum is 231 mm. If diameter of more admissible, a drum has to be replaced. In the presence risok the drum can be chiseled, but taking into account that its final diameter of a working surface was no more admissible.
3. The most admissible radial beating of a drum measured on a working surface, 0,1 mm, and minimum admissible axial beating of 0,2 mm.
